Isuzu has announced it will build and sell a new SUV crossover vehicle, the Isuzu Axiom Sportwagon. The Axiom will include a 215-horsepower 3.5 liter DOHC V6 engine, as well as an advanced suspension system augmented by a dedicated central processing unit that monitors terrain and continuously adjusts shock valving to maximize ride handling on road and off. Production will begin in the spring of 2001 at Isuzu's facility in Lafayette, Indiana. Isuzu expects to sell about 24,000 Axioms a year.
